Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14
Sunday school begins at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the Parish Hall classroom and meets every Sunday mornings throughout the school year (except Christmas, New Years and Easter). At 11:10 am, children are escorted to the church by their teachers to join their families for the remainder of the service. We are committed to instilling values of generosity, love, kindness and gratitude in our children through the fostering of inter-generational relationships and outreach projects that develop a commitment to thinking about and serving others in our parish, our community and beyond.
Love Self:
Love Self is an introduction to thinking about ourselves as unique, lovable beings, to God and others, and the importance of loving ourselves. We have conversations about courage, friendship, family and how to overcome adversity.
Love Neighbor:
Love Neighbor emphasizes loving and caring for others in need. Children will explore themes of empathy, gratitude, and justice, and how and when they intersect with loving others. Particular emphasis is placed on developing inter-generational relationships through a variety of projects.
Love God:
Love God invites children to ponder who/what God is, what we mean when we say "God is Love," and where God can be found in our lives and in the work we do for others. We focus on prayer, finding God in our work, and ways to talk about God. Prayer is encouraged to communicate with God as a way to alleviate the suffering of others, to calm oneself, or to cope with adversity.
Children's Services:
As part of the Sunday School program, Trinity offers children's services throughout the year. Children are incorporated into these abbreviated, child-centered services as greeters, readers, lay Eucharistic ministers, singers. Trinity children prepare for these services in the weeks preceding the services. The three service themes are Love self, Love Neighbor and Love God.
In addition, Trinity offers a family friendly service on Christmas Eve. During this services, we retell the gospels through pickup pageants and invite newcomers and visitor to participate.
