The Belleville Strawberry Festival has been Canceled this year [2020] due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Trinity Episcopal Church has been a part of Belleville’s National Strawberry Festival since 1977. From the beginning, we have been serving freshly made glazed strawberry pies and our famous homemade sloppy joes in a comfortable, family friendly atmosphere.

Twenty-five percent of the food tent & bakery profits will go to support the FRIDAY FILL-UP program which provides backpacks of food for elementary children in the Van Buren school district who live in food insecure homes.  Each Friday they receive enough food for 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 3 snacks and a menu stretcher that helps the entire family.  Additionally, fifty percent of the proceeds from Trinity’s Strawberry Festival activities are used to support community projects. In years past, the Strawberry Festival has been able to support the  Belleville Emergency Food Closet, Helping Hand Food Pantry, SOS Community Services, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Adopt-A-Child Size, Spirit of Hope Soup Kitchen, Salvation Army, and Heifer International just to name a few. The remainder of the proceeds are used to fund special projects and events at the church.

Trinity Episcopal Church is the first Strawberry Festival stop you see on Belleville Road when you exit I-94 heading into Belleville. Their festival hours are Friday, June 14 (4 p.m. – 9 p.m.), Saturday, June 15 (10 a.m. – 9 p.m.), and Sunday, June 16 (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.) Credit cards will be accepted at the bakery and food tent, the parking is free, and the WiFi is free. Trinity is also one of the National Strawberry Festival Trolley stops making it easy to park in one of the festival lots and ride over to Trinity.

Bakery

In addition to glazed fresh strawberry pies, our bakery features a variety of homemade treats such as delicious strawberry bread and muffins, regular and no-sugar-added strawberry freezer jam, tangy strawberry tarts, and strawberry cheesecake.

Food Tent

Trinity’s food tent is a great place to stop for lunch or dinner during the Strawberry Festival. Our homemade sloppy joes have been a favorite of festival goers for 40 years. If you want to try something a little different, the sloppy nachos are a perfect choice. Crunchy tortilla chips are smothered with meaty sloppy joe and nacho cheese sauce; for a spicy kick add a big spoonful of jalapeno peppers. You can also get regular nachos and 100% beef hot dogs jazzed up the way you like them. Make sure to save room for dessert because you won’t want to miss the strawberry shortcake. The light and tender shortcakes are covered with a heaping scoop of sweetened strawberries and topped with real whipped cream. Or you might prefer to satisfy your sweet tooth with a strawberry or hot fudge sundae, a personal glazed pie, a strawberry tart, a slice of strawberry cheesecake or a nice bowl of fresh strawberries to dip in powdered sugar or hot fudge. Festival goers say they wait all year for the ice-cold, sweet, creamy strawberry smoothie. Their smoothies are the perfect indulgence on a hot June afternoon. Since much of Trinity’s food tent and bakery menu is available in gluten-free everybody can enjoy their festival treats.

Crafters & Vendors

After you fill up on their delicious festival fare, take a stroll around the grounds, inside and out, to visit the many crafters and vendors who call Trinity home during the festival.  Some of the things you will find at Trinity include honey, lotions, candles, crocheted items, laser wood crafts, jewelry, blown glass, greeting cards, name rings, clothing, dolls and accessories, garden art, quilts, Avon, Tupperware, Color Street Nails and many, many more crafts and vendors.
